NTA Yellow Ribbon Undergraduate or Graduate Scholarship

Amount : $5,000

Applicant must be a permanent resident of the United States or Canada with a physical or sensory disability who is a full-time entering or returning undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited two-, three (for Quebec), or four-year college or university in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism; graduate students must be able to demonstrate a clear focus on and commitment to the tourism subject area. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, signed letter from an accredited physician confirming disability, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: "Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals." Award will be sent to the recipient's financial aid office for the fall semester to cover tuition, books, and educational fees (for undergraduate students); and tuition, books, educational fees, and research-related expenses (for graduate students).
