Applicant must be a permanent resident of any country who is entering sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study, or entering or returning year of graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be pursuing a travel and tourism degree with an interest in marketing research as it relates to marketing, have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel (required), and have knowledge of Microsoft Access and SBSS software (a preference, but not a requirement). Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, official transcript, at least one letter of recommendation from a tourism-related faculty member or from a professional in the tourism industry, and two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: ?Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals." Award is for an internship with the American Society of Travel Agents Research Department in the Washington, DC area.
