Applicant must be under the age of 18 and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Selection is based upon outstanding achievements in the areas of science, technology, mathematics, music, literature, and/or philosophy. Each submission must be an original piece of work recognized by experts in the field as "significant" and it must have the potential to make a positive contribution to society.
