Federal Pell Grants are awarded annually. The maximum Federal Pell Grant for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 award years is $5,550. The actual award depends on the student's Expected Family Contribution (EFC), cost of attendance (COA), his or her enrollment status, and the length of the academic year in which the student is enrolled.
