Applicant must be a first or second year medical student who is part of a group currently underrepresented in the medical profession; specifically, African-Americans, Alaska Natives, Hispanic/Latinos, Native Hawaiians, and mainland Puerto Ricans who permanently reside in the United States. Selection is based upon financial need as determined by the applicant's total resources, cost education, and receipt of other scholarships and grants. Proof of admission to an accredited medical school, financial need, nontaxable income, and current financial aid award letter are required to be documented.
