NTA Hawai'i - Chuck Yim Gee Undergraduate Scholarship

Amount : $1,500

Applicant must be a permanent resident of Hawai'i who is an undergraduate student enrolled at any accredited four-year college or university in the state of Hawai'i. Applicant must be entering their junior or senior year of study enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism with minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. A minimum of 60 credit hours must be completed by May in order to be eligible. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: ?Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals." Award will be sent to the recipient's financial aid office for the fall semester to cover tuition, books, and educational fees only.
