Applicant must be a permanent resident of any country and be an entering or returning graduate student at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States or Canada, who is conducting research on a topic with a tourism focus. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be able to demonstrate a clear focus on and commitment to the tourism-subject area. Application form, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, one letter of recommendation (from academic/research advisor), a five-page research proposal, official transcript, and a one-page reflection essay are required to be submitted. Required reflection essay question: "Explain how you expect your career to serve the travel and tourism or hospitality industry, or how the practical application of the findings of your proposed research study will serve the travel and tourism or hospitality industry." Award will cover tuition, books, educational fees, and research-related fees only.
