Applicant must be a permanent resident of Michigan who is entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled as a full- or part-time student in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism. A minimum of 60 credit hours must have been completed by May in order to be eligible for the award. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay on specific topic are required to be submitted. Required essay topic: ?Niche markets with an emphasis on student markets.? Award will be sent to the recipient's financial aid office for the fall semester to cover tuition, books, and educational fees only.
