Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Servicemembers

Applicant must be the dependent child or unremarried spouse of a Florida veteran or servicemember who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service-connected 100% permanent and total disabilities. The veteran or servicemember must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who was a Florida resident for one year immediately preceding time of death and who died as a result of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty. Veteran/servicemember may also have been classified as a P.O.W. or M.I.A. by the Armed Forces of the United States or as a civilian personnel captured while servicing with the consent or authorization of the United States government during wartime service. The child or spouse must be a Florida resident and a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who is enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program for a minimum of six credit hours, 180 clock hours, or the equivalent at a post-secondary institution. Applicant must not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made.
