Applicant must be a graduate from an Iowa secondary school. Selection is based upon academic achievement and financial need. Preference given to majors in: chemistry, civil engineering, engineering, food tech, microbiology, and zoology.

Selection is based upon an examination of various aspects of general high school biology.

Applicant must be a freshman student majoring in marine biology with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, 30 credits, and high grades in two semesters of biology.

Pre-registration is required. Selection is based upon performance on a competitive biology exam.

Applicant must have a dissertation dealing with any aspect of orchid biology in the disciplines of physiology, molecular biology, structure, systematics, cytology, ecology, and/or evolution.

Awarded to a graduating Biology major with the highest average in biology courses.

Applicant must be a marine biology major with outstanding academic performance. Participation, dedication, and contribution to the department are required.

Applicant must be in need of financial aid and show academic promise. Applicant must be in either the Department of Biology, the Department of Physical Sciences, or the Department of Mathematics and Computing.

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
