Applicant must be African-American, Hispanic, or Native American and must be committed to apply for full-time Ph.D. study after graduation from college.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need and participation in co-curricular communication activities.

Applicant must be of Swiss descent or have a parent who is a Swiss citizen, and be a US permanent resident. Award may be used at a Swiss university or federal institute of technology only.

Applicant must be a high school senior or graduate under 20 years of age, a New York state resident, the child or grandchild of a veteran, and be pursuing a career in medical or teaching fields.

Selection is based upon ability and need.

Applicant must be enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program and is enrolled full-time for at least two semesters. Current FAFSA must be filed, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation must be submitted.

Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA. Selection is based upon faculty recommendation.

Applicant must be nominated by Music Department faculty.

Selection is based upon financial need.

Applicant must attend the School of Education and Human Development, be an adult learner, and demonstrate financial need.
