Selection is based upon GPA, SAT or ACT scores, and recommendation from a science or technology teacher.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 GPA or must demonstrate substantial GPA improvement in the past three to four semesters.

Applicant must be an African-American, Latino, or Native American student. Incoming freshman applicant must have an unweighted high school grade average of 85. Continuing student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applicant must have a strong academic record and commitment to serving others.

Applicant must demonstrate academic excellence.

Applicant must be the son or daughter of a firefighter, law enforcement official, or EMS staff, and must demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to applicants who exhibit an interest in public safety or law enforcement careers.

Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need and campus involvement.

Applicant must be a New York high school graduate planning on attending college full time.

Applicant must be a two-year engineering science transfer student from Broome, Corning, Delhi, or Tompkins-Cortland community colleges in N.Y.
