Music Scholarships

A sample of recent musical work is required. Financial need may be considered. Preference is given to applicants studying Maharishi Gandharva-Ved music.

For music, award is based upon the audition for acceptance. For art, award is based upon a portfolio that must be presented to the department. For theatre, the award is dependent upon previous acting experience and a written statement.

Applicant must be Rhode Island resident and a church organist who is an ABO member, or enrolled in college as a music major.

Applicant must be under age 25, must be a member of a minority group, must reside in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, or southern California, must submit musical biography, transcripts, and photo, and must audition.

Applicant must be from the city of San Buenaventura or Ojai and have attended a Ventura or Ojai area high school or college. Interest and involvement in music in recommendation letters and essay must be shown.

Applicant must be from the city of Ojai or Ventura. Applicant must submit three letters of recommendations, with two addressing applicant's musical qualifications.

Selection is based upon performance competition. Audition tape required as part of scholarship application.

There are no other entrance scholarships or awards. Award is $500.per year for four years.

Applicant must be age 36 or younger, and have a fair amount of performing experience in professional companies.
